About

Hi.

I am Ivan, founder of blurfus.com and – very soon – ochiwerks.com.  I am a web developer living in Canada and, like any other bootstrapping co., I wear may hats on any given day.  Some of those hats are explained a bit below.

Life.

I am a father of two amazing kids.  They are my ‘everything’ and my life rotates around their well-being.  There is nothing more important to me than those two human beings. :)

Work.

I am an IT professional with 10+ years of experience, I am always seeking an opportunity to design and implement an array of web and mobile solutions that integrate various aspects of our technically-filled life-threads into fully usable dashboard of awesomeness.

I prefer to build software with the aim to aid users and businesses in their decision-making process and enhance operational efficiencies through software.

Working alone or with a team of like-minded individuals, I strive to find a work/life balance to equally dedicate my energy in the pursuits of personal and professional goals.

I play the role of Business Analyst, Project Manager, Tester, and Developer as required

Play.

I like surfing, more specifically, bodyboarding.  However, living in Canada, and somewhat away from good breaks, means I got to find other sports to keep the sanity.  I have played baseball, soccer, volleyball – all rec leagues (and one beer league ;) )

Recently, I took to running as it requires fewer time commitments to others (as with any team sport).  I have done a few 10Ks over the past 15 years and a pair of half-marathon.  Currently I am training for my first marathon and hope to complete a triathlon by the time I hit 40 (which is not as far away as you may think)

I like photography (but cannot afford a good DSLR yet) so I am not even sure you can call me an enthusiast.

I like technology and computers and you’ll see me once in a while tinkering in my house with a few open cases and some Open Source software downloading on the side, to be installed soon.

I also like traveling and seeing new places.

My heart is always looking for the endless summer with epic waves, friends, and family.
